Service Description

A handbuilding class for kids ages 5 and up - let’s clay together! Pottery is more than throwing on a wheel. I will introduce the handbuilding basics of coiling, pinching, and slab method. Each student starts with the same amount of clay and makes any number of pieces of their choosing from their clay allotment. In my experience kids only need gentle guidance in this setting. I allow as much room for exploration and creativity as possible. During their clay session students choose 1 of 5 glazes which I apply between firings. Their piece will be ready for pick up 3 weeks later! No prior experience needed! All you need is an openness to getting a little messy. Please reach out with any accessibility concerns.
